ASIS Education

CONTAVA believes in education through an annual grant to ASIS (American Society for Industrial Security) Edmonton and Northern Alberta Chapter. In addition CONTAVA is pleased to support the Society by sponsoring educational security training.

Environmentally Friendly

CONTAVA strives to reduce our carbon footprint as much as possible. Most of our fleet of vehicles is diesel fueled and we have implemented recycling initiatives in our daily work day. With our paper recycling program, CONTAVA actively saves one tree a month!

Trade School Haiti

CONTAVA supports the Lakay School project through a fund raiser for Keith Sashaw, President of the Vancouver Regional Construction Association. With the help of Vancouver-based Builders without Borders, the Calgary Construction Association pledged to help rebuild the Lakay trade school operated in Port au Prince by the Silesian Fathers of Don Bosco, which prior to its near total destruction was turning out trained carpenters, electricians, sewers and other tradespeople.

NAIT Scholarships

CONTAVA supports trades and technology graduates, with our contribution to NAIT’s annual Scholarships and Bursaries available to student athletes in the following programs:

  • Electrical Engineering Technology
  • Electronics Engineering Technology
  • Network Engineering Technology
  • Telecommunications Engineering Technology

Santa Anonymous

Santas Anonymous was started in 1955 to provide Christmas presents for needy children. Now more than 25,000 presents are delivered each and every year in Edmonton. Since 2006, CONTAVA’s employees have supported this program by participating in their annual Present Wrapping Bees.

Youth Emergency Shelter Society (YESS)

In 1982 YESS opened its doors on its Whyte Avenue building to homeless and at-risk youth providing them shelter, safety and hope. Over the years, the Society has helped thousands of kids giving them options and support. Since 2010, CONTAVA and staff have supported YESS by collecting and donating recycled bottles.
